About Us

National Association History

The Secured Finance Network (SFNet), formerly the Commercial Finance Association (CFA), is the international trade association dedicated to the asset-based lending and factoring industries. It is an essential community for organizations and professionals who deliver secured finance to businesses.

CFA was founded in 1944 and rebranded to SFNet in 2019. SFNet has nearly 300 member companies and 16 chapters located throughout the United States, Mexico and Canada. SFNet members include a diverse collection of lending institutions that range from international banks to independent entrepreneurial finance companies. SFNet membership is by organization, not by individual. All employees of a member company can take advantage of SFNet membership benefits.

Chapter Mission

The Northern California chapter of the Secured Financt Network serves its original constituency of professionals and firms in asset-based lending and factoring, as well as non-traditional debt finance practices including leveraged lending, trade and channel finance, recurring revenue lending, venture lending and FinTech.  By serving a broad array of debt capital providers, SFNet NorCal supports the development and growth of a robust and innovative market for commercial finance. We bring together a community of people, data, knowledge, tools and insights that put capital to work.
